CaddyBytes 🏆 2026 Zurich Classic of New Orleans Final Round Highlights: The 2026 Zurich Classic of New Orleans finished with a family moment the PGA Tour will remember, as Matt and Alex Fitzpatrick teamed up to win at TPC Louisiana. In the PGA Tour’s rare team format, the brothers handled the alternate-shot pressure, leaned on their familiarity with each other’s games, and closed out a victory built on trust, patience, and late-round execution.
The defining shot came late, when Matt Fitzpatrick faced one of golf’s toughest plays — a long bunker shot with almost no margin between a perfect result and disaster. Instead of playing safely, Matt took on the higher-risk option, flew the ball up onto a narrow ridge, and spun it close to the hole. The shot left Alex with a short tap-in and gave his younger brother the chance to finish off his first PGA Tour victory.
Alex Fitzpatrick’s role was just as important throughout the final round. While Matt stayed locked into his own rhythm, Alex gave him space when needed and stepped in with key shots when the team needed support. His iron play, steady ball-striking, and calm under pressure helped the brothers survive the back-nine swings and stay in position to win.
The win changed Alex Fitzpatrick’s PGA Tour future, bringing a two-year exemption, entry into signature events, a spot in the PGA Championship, and a breakthrough moment alongside his brother. For Matt, it continued a red-hot stretch of form and added another emotional victory to a remarkable run. For the Zurich Classic, it delivered exactly what the team event can do best — a shared win, a family story, and a final-round finish with real meaning.
